Testimonials
Ricky - 24 years old – Airport Operator
"When I enthusiastically told about my bandmates about this journey I had started with you, they were all more or less of the same opinion: "A class with 10-11 people? You’re not gonna learn much, you should have taken individual lessons ". They had to change their minds when they saw the facts, when I started “performing” in the rehearsal room. They spontaneously complimented me on how much I had improved over so short a time span. At the end of each lesson I feel just as motivated as I was when I decided to take the course, and the same I felt at the end of your clinics. But now I am much more involved ".

Marco –Pilot for Air Dolomiti and Lufthansa
Your course is the best for those who think that music is not just for natural talents, but also for anonymous workers. Even these latter can get where they wish, with hard work, commitment and motivation. Hard practice is fatiguing... but it pays off!! I’d never have thought that I would play a single 4/4 note with such authority and effectiveness!

Massimo - 39 years old - Rheumathologist
This course is the university of the guitar: the amount of information that you receive is enormous. What I find even more fantastic are the cues, sometimes unspoken, that you use to urge us to deepen our study. What I appreciate the most is your capability to communicate the practice routines with extreme clarity, and the extraordinary combination of discipline and fun, that completely eliminates any feeling of fatigue or disappointment. And there’s something you are great at: you make us all so confident about ourselves and about our chances to reach the goals we never even dared to dream of..

Guido - 29 years old - Employee
A treasure trove, which gets richer and richer at every lesson, thanks to the clear information and the immediate solutions we learn. All the things you have always looked for! Your great experience is opening the way to our personal expression, and every lesson is stimulating and enjoyable! Thank you so much!
Rhythm, Solo and… Guitar Sound Course

Type of course
This course synthesizes my vision of the barebone basics for the professional guitarist. The essential minimum you need today to work as a musician:
  • Rhythm Guitar
  • Soloing
  • Guitar Sound
The course deals mainly with Rhythmic Accompaniment and Solo Technique. Occasionally it is about Amplificazione and Effects. This course is especially founded on fun and practice: 92% playing, 8% theory/harmony.

Who is this course for?
For three categories of students: working people, university students and candidates to the Rock Guitar Master
  • Working people and university students.Guitarist who, for a variety of reasons (band, university, work, others), want to arrange their practice time over a longer time span and with less frequent lessons, coming to class only once a month (or every two weeks)
  • Candidates to the Rock Guitar Master. This course gives the best possible training to start my Rock Guitar Master
Is it a difficult course?
No, but it is quite intense and with uncompromised “Begotti Quality”. It is just like participating in eight of my seminars, with the opportunity of playing together and with some time to correct the exercises (for those who so wish). The quality of the material I teach and of the severity of my tests is exactly the same as in my Rock Guitar Master.

What are the minimum requirements to take the course?
Although there is no admission test, I recommend it to students who “have played for at least 2 years, better if four”.

Duration of the course
Eight classes, once a month (or every two weeks)), 2.30 hours each.
  • Primo set (8 incontri). Forma delle solide basi nelle tre materie (attestato)
  • Secondo (8 incontri). Specializza nelle tre materie (attestato), in particolare nella tecnica solista
Course Textbooks

Private Lesson: Rhythm & Lead Donato Begotti - BMG
It is the textbook, the foundation. Here’s why:
  • 15 progressively difficult lessons
  • 49 scale fingerings
  • Dozens of rhythms in 12 different musical genres
  • 15 progressively difficult solos
  • 62 pages of transcriptions
  • Parallel musical examples in the keys of A and E
  • Examined guitar techniques: Alternate Picking, Straight Picking, String Skipping, Legato, Bending, Picking + fingers, Tapping, Natural and False Harmonics
  • Description of the setup I used for the recordings
  • Tips on Songwriting, Interpretation and Improvisation
  • More than an hour of music
  • Playalong tracks for each exercise
  • 73 tracks with musical examples
  • Downloadable General MIDI playalongs for the songs on www.donatobegotti.com
Speed Mechanics For Lead Guitar - Troy Stetina - Hal Leonard
This is the book on which the students build their solo technique and learn the rock licks. Contrary to my book "Private Lesson: Rhythm & Lead" (that deals with techniques applied to songs, that is, you develop the technique by playing that song), “Speed Mechanics For Lead Guitar” deals with it analitically. Along the years I understood that both approaches are necessary, and if one of them is overlooked the student is going to have weak spots. This is why I also use this book:
  • It’s great fun
  • It’s excellent material
  • The teaching method is fantastic, and it deals with: legato, alternate picking, sweep, tapping, creativity
Masters Of Rhythm Guitar - Joachim Voeghel. Ama Verlag
This is the second book about rhythm guitar. Contrary to "Private Lesson: Rhythm & Lead", which deals with rhythm
  • At first analitically
  • Then with a creative, a little crazy approach
Masters Of Rhythm Guitar teaches the student how to accompany on various musical genres, getting inspiration from master guitarists and analyzing the details of their styles (for example: The Edge, Andy Summers, Van Halen, James Hatfield e John Mclaughlin, Joe Pass, Prince and dozens more). I use this book because:
  • It’s great fun
  • It’s excellent material
Notes
I also assign other exercises for guitar technique. My students call them “Big Fingers”, they’re the usual “1234” drills, but... à la Begotti. They are great to develop your touch, independence, precision and dynamics.
