Description of the book
What is it about?
Rhythm & Lead is the first rock guitar method by Donato Begotti, from the series Private Lesson. The level is "Basic to Medium Advanced"; Rhythm & Lead deals with rhythmic accompaniment and solo technique, and is based on three main ingredients: 70% fun, 20% discipline, 10% craziness (from the very first track).
The strong point of the method is the language it uses: ironic, confidential and happy. This immediately sets the pleasant one-on-one atmosphere, typical of an individual lesson. Twelve people have collaborated with the author in drafting this method, that summarizes 12 years of teaching at top level. In these years, this approach, this language and these exercises have trained some of the best Italian guitarists now active in Mediaset, in the record industry in Italy and abroad and in Cover Bands (click her to visit the section dedicated to former students). Now everybody can enjoy it.

The method is divided into 15 Private Lessons, carefully organized according to progressive difficulty. Each lesson utilizes a different key, musical genre and solo technique. You will find:
- More than 70 musical examples in the enclosed CD (you can listen to a trailer of most examples by clicking on the Juke Box in the side column). More than an hour of music: Rock, Pop, Blues, Funky, Fusion, Reggae, African (this diversity reflects the author’s ideal of the versatile guitarist for the new millennium)
- 15 Minisongs
- Playalong tracks for each musical example
- MIDI tracks to play at slower tempos or to exclude instruments from playback (available on www.donatobegotti.com since January 2006)
- Dozens of tracks inspired from the best-known rock, pop and funky progressions, on which the student can jam on the fingerings and licks suggested for the solos in the LEAD section
- More than 40 scale fingerings
- Two special lessons (called VIP lessons) by two other great guitarists: Tony De Gruttola & Michele Quaini
